Emergency Calling (E911) Disclosure

YeapTel provides interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service. Because YeapTel numbers are not tied to a single physical wire the way traditional landlines are, emergency (911) calling works differently, and it is important you understand these differences before relying on YeapTel for emergency calls.

Address on file

Emergency calls are routed based on the physical address you register for each number under Compliance → Emergency Addresses. You must register and keep this address current — if you move a number to a new physical location, update the address before making calls from that location. Emergency responders will be dispatched to the address on file, not your actual location, if the two differ.

Situations where 911 calling may not work as expected

• Loss of internet connectivity, power outage, or network congestion at your location.
• Using a number whose emergency address has not been set or validated.
• Placing a call from a browser or device outside the country associated with your registered address.
• Number porting still in progress.

Our recommendation

Keep a traditional phone line or mobile phone with an independent carrier connection available as a backup for emergency calls, particularly during internet or power outages.
